"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over."

Sometimes you just have to sit back and watch. That's all you can do. You can talk but at some point you have to stop even if your friend doesn't understand what's going on. But later on, you have the choice to pick up the pieces or to let them stay on the ground. That's the main choice you get. Sometimes, you are wrong. Maybe there won't be pieces. and if there aren't any pieces, the admit that you were wrong and move on. The best and only thing you can do is explain everything to the best of your abilities and walk away. You can't make people do anything nor can you force them. And why would you want to? Rarely does someone actually like something that has been forced upon them.
However, while you are waiting, you can stress yourself out in the process by thinking about it. You have to "say and forget it." You can't spend all of your time being concerned about your friend's problem. Let them work it out. If they ask you for help, then and only then, you can help them.
Just remember that things have their way of working out. It's what makes life, life!
